5 ways to wellbeing
The five ways to wellbeing are: connect with others, be active, be present, learn something new and give to others.
Mind-body practices
Ancient mind-body practices, such as yoga and qigong, share a common goal of promoting holistic health, self-awareness and growth through the integration of the mind, body and spirit. Studies are increasing showing their health benefits including stress reduction, improved flexibility and balance and increased overall well-being.
Fundamental principles include:
Building the mind-body connection through promoting awareness of breath, movement and energy flow
Conscious breathing techniques synchronised with flowing movements to enhance energy flow and relaxation
Meditation and mindfulness practices to aid calming of the mind and increased mental focus
Journalling
Journalling complements the mind-body practice through the practise of gratitude, deepening self-discovery, mindfulness and reflective practice, processing emotional release, progress tracking and written intention setting to enhance focus and purpose
